Process
PHASE ONE: UNDERSTAND & IDEATE
Understand the purpose, distribution format, and content needs.
Research corporate newsletter templates and examples.
Choose to work in Canva so non-designers can access.
Create some mockups with potential layouts and styles including fonts, shapes, colors and tone. Example of an initial below.
PHASE TWO: COLLABORATE
Present ideas to the team and receive feedback.
Edit design as needed based on feedback.
Work with team members gathering content to input information and adjust design.
Present final version to team members before send out for final leader approval.
PHASE THREE: DISTRIBUTION
Create banner image to embed in email announcing the month’s newsletter.
Test distribution within the team to confirm links work.
Official email sent to department and additional leaders who requested to be included. See first ever edition release below.
Track metrics of how many people are viewing the newsletter.
Collect reactions and feedback from employees through interpersonal conversations and email.
PHASE FOUR: ITERATE
Review metrics and feedback from previous edition within our team and discuss any pivots.
Make the necessary edits to the design based on changes.
Repeat Phase Two through Four each month.
